Don’t Shop at PetSmart!

If you’ve been following me, you’ve seen my posts about how my company is handling the virus and their employees/customers. Things have gotten worse.

  1. They are guilt-tripping employees to work when sick, even groomers who are forced to work in tight quarters. 
  2. They have been telling employees/stores that “pandemics are good for business”. 
  3. They have been trying to sell non-essential services to people, not having any regard for limitations on people in one place. 
  4. They are trying to profit on other stores’ limited hours to try and get their foot traffic. 
  5. They are claiming that they are trying to “do everything” they can, and do you know what that is? Wiping down keypads. They aren’t limiting hours, they aren’t capping off customers, they’re doing nothing.
  6. Instead of answering employee/customer concerns, they are just retweeting and responding to positive PR posts. They don’t care about the well-being of their people. 
  7. They’re fighting to keep their stores open as “essential” stores. Pet food and supplies can be bought online, or bought at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. If your animal is injured, you can take them to a hospital. Grooming services are not considered necessities. 
  8. In states that have mandated stores that are not life sustaining for humans, shut down, they are keeping stores open.

This is not a company that cares about anything but money, and their actions are proving that each day. I’m ashamed to work for them. There is a petition that you can sign and share to try and get PetSmart to put people over money.
